The guest rooms have been named after the ladies who owned the home in years past...

The Stella...
is named after Stella L. Mitchell who, in 1900, bought "the lumber yard lot" and built this exquisite home. The Stella is the largest quest room, with a white iron king-sized bed, tucked into an alcove of windows, which provide a beautiful view of both the lake and the lovely tree-lined main street. A pastel room-sized oriental rug, cherry Empire dresser, and armoire, as well as other lovely antiques, are there to enchant our guests. The "en suite" bath is small but bright and has a modern shower. Extra towels are rolled up in a coal scuttle and in an oak clock key cupboard. |

The Mary... The Mary is named for Mary C. Butler, who bought
the house from Stella Mitchell in 1920. With its large leaded windows, this room
has the best view of the lake and village. The Mary can best be described as handsome.
The antiques are Renaissance Revival period; heavily carved walnut with marble
tops. The bed dates to c.1870 and has been converted to a queen. The dresser is
dated c.1857 and is very unusual because of its full-length mirror. The "en
suite" bath, with its ornate window looking out at the lake, has a stall
shower and plenty of room for guest's toiletries. |

The DeEtta...
is named after DeEtta Smith who, along with her husband, Dr. Albert Smith, bought the home in 1948, raised three daughters and practiced medicine here. To many locals it is still known as the "Dr. Smith House." The DeEtta is the
sunniest guest room. It has a lovely view of the lake and faces quiet
West Lake Street. A queen size bed and large chestnut armoire
dominate the room, along with a pumpkin pine "bachelor's chest." |
|
The "en suite" bath is the original
for the house, with its old footed soaking tub, which has been adapted
to modern times with a shower that has great water pressure and a large
shower head. Extra towels are rolled up in an old copper wash tub.
